Lincolnshire Maltmans

Encouraged to see at least one other recent posting (hi Valerie) I thought I might try throwing out a question.

I can't help with the Maltmans in Bristol as my line goes back to Lincolnshire. Specifically there is a cluster in Grantham. I am trying to find the birth record of my GG-grandfather George William Maltman. He was born to Sarah Maltman who seems to have omitted to get married. Her parents are William and Elizabeth (who died in 1847). William was a coachman and that is about all I can find so far.

Any info on Maltmans in early 19th century Lincs would help.

Wondering if anyone has info on Mary? She married a James Galloway and they had a son, Thomas, on May 6, 1781 in Fowlis Wester, Perth, Scotland

I have a Thomas Galloway who married an Elizabeth Campbell in Stirling in 1807. They had nine children: Elizabeth, Mary, Jean, Thomas, James, Janet (maybe my GGGGrandmother), Margaert, Robert and Helen.

I am trying to find info on stephen maltman, particularly his parents in england so i can further my research and what he was in prison for please email me if you have any info, he was in prison in 1870 at the matson state prison in jackson michigan, i tried to get info from the state but they told me i would have to go there to get it and im in california please email any info on him or even on his kids in the poor house listed as insane, i would also like to know details on that, my email is valeriemaltman1@comcast.net i am willing to pay for info if needed

I'm a descendant of Henry Maltman (1836-1929) and Agnes McFerran (1837-1916), both born in Killinchy, Co. Down and died in Bangor,Co Down. They had around 12 children, and are the ancestors of most Irish Maltmans. I've been gathering information on this family for 30 years, and have lots of information, family stories, certificates and ancient photos to share with anyone who has a connection. I live in Australia but was born in Ireland and know the Bangor area well. Hope to hear from some distant cousins out there.

Hi, can anyone give me information on Maltmans in Ontario before 1882? I believe the family is from Scotland before Canada. What I have is this:
Joseph Duncan Maltman b about 1870 in Woodbridge, ONT d about 1931 in Port Colburn
m. in 1905 Alwilda May Brown b 1886 in Aldsley Township, Grey, ONT to Thomas Lundy Brown and Rachel Thompson (or Thomson). Their oldest was Kenneth Joseph Maltman b 1 Apr 1907 in Port Colburn, ONT d Jan 1949 in NY.
Does anyone have access to census data?

It's rather surreal to be saying hello to my "family" whom I don't even know. But "HI!" is in order all the same. My grandfather is George M. Maltman from the Scottish highlands. He had two living sons Alan and Wilfred who now live in Ontario, Canada. Wilfred(Fred) M. Maltman is my father who has two living sons Grant M. Maltman and Jeff P.(me). My mother, Beverly Maltman(Hackenbrook/Hackenbroich) has done extensive work to locate the Maltman branch that we(us?, my family? you know what I mean! :-) ) are on. I would be happy to try to coordinate some info-swapping between branches. I seem to recall that she has traced the Maltman name as far back as the late 1500's(1570 comes to mind). I hope this message posting is of use and I wish you all "happy family-name hunting"!! No, not the same as name calling during reunions or holidays!! ;-) Be well.
