The Manard family had a family reunion a few years ago in Good Hope, IL.
My Manard family came from Camp Point, IL. I was told the Manard's were French,which was a bit surprise as I didn't think there was french in my blood lines.

Is anyone familiar with Alden Manard? He served in Wisconsin as a Freewill Baptist minister. I am President of the Wisconsin Freewill Baptist Historical Society and am trying to find descendants of deceased ministers, like I am, in the hopes of learning more about these people as well as possible orchestrating a “reunion” of the descendants of these ministers in 2008. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I am from the Levi Manard line. Levi Manard to Mashack Mainard to Mashack S. Mayanrd to Clyde Vernon Maynard my ggrandfather. From Shelby, IL to MO to Leon, IA. Most of this info I got from my grandmother, non has been verified.

I didn't know Levi had a son named Abednego. I knew he had a brother with that name. My 'leg' is Gibson - Levi - Mashack - Mashack - Clyde - then my grandmother who is still living. Both Mashack the son and Clyde are buried in Leon, Iowa. Leon is pronounced Lynn.

I too am searching the Levi Maynard line. Levi's son was Abedengo. My grandfather's name was Otto Howard Mainard. He told me the spelling of the last name was changed to keep an evil step-mother from finding a past ancester. Any help would be appreciated!!!

Allan knows alot more about Dorcus(Darcus) than I do....about her parents and all....I know her children...and all my side down from her...and a few branchs off of them...however I do not know her and Jesse's birth or death dates...I have been searching for them for over a year now...and have come up empty handed so far....If you use Family tree maker Version 8...I would be more than glad to unload a copy of my family tree file to you...it is complete for the information you are seeking as far as I have it...However I still have plenty of information to add to it...
I just checked my family tree maker and I have nothing for Catherine...so I would have to assume you are the first person to contact me about her..and I would be glad to trade any information I can with you.

To be one hundred precent honest...I am away at college right now..and I have little to nothing with me....I do happen to know that I do not have there exact birth dates only cir. 1829 and death dates are unknown...and I do not really know a whole lot about Daniel Manard, and Milberry (Mulberry) Franklin, I am just now starting to learn about them...some peple believe that Milberry was at least part indian...which is really my whole interest in the matter...is discovering my origins....However...I just recently started all of this stuff...and as far as Catherine goes, I think I have little to nothing on her, so any information you would like to provide would be appreciated.

I would be very interested in the family history. I hope it can confirm or refute something.

My wife is the g-g-granddaughter of Ella Gilliland, b. Wyandot Cty., Ohio in 1865. She married Jefferson Hilderbrand of Wyandot County.

From looking at census data, I believe I have learned through process of elimination that she was the daughter of James L. (b. 1838) and Martha Gilliland (b. 1842). But the 1880 Census has, among James L's children, an Ellen, aged 15. There is no one else in the 1880 census the right age, with a name close to Ella, with both parents and her born in Ohio. (source: www.familysearch.org).

James L. was the son of James, son of David, son of James and Elizabeth Manard.

Also, I would like to know more about James L.'s mother, Susanna Stewart, and her family.

Does your family history have anything about these questions?

I don't know who is parents are. I wish I could be more help. I think Darcus/Dorcus's father is Daniel Manard, and mother is Millberry/Mullberry Franklin. A woman who is related to Daniel Manard contactedme in regards to the possiblity of her being his child, I think it is. However I have no proof. Thanks for the info, I have not researched Dorcus Manard that close. I had that the Dorcus that married Jesse Lowery was Gibsons Daughter. Thanks for the info. Do you have birth and death dates and where born and died on Daniel and his wife and info on Daniels wife's parents. How much info do you have on Gibson Manard. I would appreciate anything you would share with me. Jesse Lowery's daughter Catherine is my Great grandmother. She married William Penn Dance. They are the parents of my grandmother Margaret Dance Maples. If you would like info on Dances I would gladly share. Do you know anything about Jesse Lowery's parents and such. Thanks for the help.

Hi Robin, the Maynard you ask about is not one of my direct lines. I know my family was in arkansas in the mid 1840-50's, but don't know of any of them by name except my grandfather, and his father.

Etta Maynard or manard married Charles Simmering, date unknown, had 10 cildren, one who died when it was a baby, and lived in Mansfeild Ohio. I know that at some time they lived in Shelby, Ohio. Doyle... I have been researching the family of Gibson & Delilah Cate Manard for over 20 years now. In this instance, Crystal's Dorcas Manard is the daughter of Daniel Manard & Milberry Franklin and married Jesse W. Lowery. Daniel Manard is the 2nd child of Gibson Manard & Delilah Cate. The Dorcas Manard you cite is indeed the 6th child of Gibson & Delilah Manard, an Aunt to Crystal's Dorcas Manard. This Dorcas was married twice, 1st to a James Sutlive and 2nd to a Robert Moore. I am researching a Delila Jane Manard (MAYNARD) who married an Isaac Shepherd Bailey in 1870 in Pope County, Arkansas. She divorced Isaac before 1900 and I only know that she supposedly lived to be 101 years old and died in Melette, Oklahoma. She was possibly born about 1854 in Arkansas. I am still researching this line. Unfortunately, this is the only information I have so far on the MANARD line.

Hi, cuz long time since I heard from you. I never knew grandpa Simmering lived in Shelby. I knew that they lived on Mulberry Street in Mansfield until they both passed away. Maybe you can help me work this side of my family. No one wants to talk much.
