yes there was Klan goings on in at least the 1830's and 40's. My mom grew up on Shawmount off of ridge towards the crick. She remembers my grandfather going out and yelling at them as they came up the street and saying there names based on thier voices. He was raised non- catholic, but was baptized as a catholic. Lucky for him they did not know it at the time.
