My deceased mother in law was Georgianna Mance (prior to marriage) her parents were Henry Turner Mance, Millie Green Mance. Henry was was from Georgia, Millie was from paris Tx.
They were of African American decent.
Most of my immediate in laws reside in Colorado

My great grandmother's maiden name was Mance. She married Thomas Kucan in 1869 in Fuzine, Croatia Her name was Antonia. All their children came to America. In Iowa around Centerville, Mystic and Brazil. They were coal miners. My grandmother Maria Kucan married Tony Buban in Brazil, Iowa. They both were born in Fuzine. Anyone related?

George and his Siblings were all born in USA.. parents were, maybe G parents ( not sure with) were -Anton Mance and Matija Mance. I really have nothing on the Mance family.. George Sr didn't talk about them... so please if you can send me what you may have I can get back to you after I talk to family members

I will have to look at my paperwork to see what I have on that side. I did not have a brother for Frank & Jacob that was alive when they came from Croatia. Will check. Yes Margaritta maiden name was Mance also. She was from Mrkopajl, Croatia. Can I email you directly or do you want me to go through the message board?

Husbands name is George Mance, his Father was George Mance Sr. - His family lived in Kanas City, Kanas. - G. Sr's Brother were Frank and Jacob (Joe)... sisters were Marie, the other I think was named Barbara. What caught my eye with your Post was that Margaretta maiden name was Mance and she Married a Mance. ALSO my husband has a sister named Georgetta and a Brother named Jackie - both from a earlier marriage to a lady named Marie.--- we live in Ohio. Sorry I have NO pictures of the older Mance Family. George Sr. and his brothers are all dead, Frank died 2002( lived in Kanas) and George Sr in 2000 (Ohio)

What is your husbands name? Jacob and Margareta are my great grandparents. My grandfather was James Mance. His brothers were Frank and Nick and his sisters were Margaret and Mary. Do you have any pictures of Jacob and Margareta? Would be anxious to talk with you about the family.

In reference to the obituary you placed on the Mance message board the wife of William D. Mance is spelled incorrectly it should be Juanita and George's brother Harry Mance's full name was Joeseph Harold Mance.

of Harrison City, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 19, 2008, in his home. He was born Oct. 4, 1925, in Irwin, a son of the late George and Margaret (Lasitis) Mance. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Westinghouse Air Brake, Wilmerding. He loved traveling, the outdoors and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Mance; and a sister, Dolores Grzybowski. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Mildred (Kozain) Mance; son, William D. Mance and his wife, Junita, of Round Rock, Texas; daughter, Cheryl M. Moroz and her husband, David, of Greencastle; five grandchildren, Melanie, Melissa, Charles, Erin and Jonathan; six great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Mance and his wife, Patricia, of Enfield, Conn.; and a sister, Shirley Acito and her husband, Gene, of Youngwood. Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.

I am afraid that "my" Mance family seems to be from a different line. But over the years I have been in contact with some Victorian "Mance's" and have some info on file.

Jill, I have a cousin in Melb that is just started researching the Mance family in Vic. The clan down here starts off with a Albert Ernest Manace 1873-1914 and Agnes Harriot Manace , dont know her maiden name ? Have you any connections to them? Please advise . Thanks
The Mances have a couple of relatively high profile people, Alan, Alan Mance Holden and Greg who is a horse trainer and George who is a retired trotting driver. Of couse thare is Charlie Mance in Sydney who was one of the last WW1 vets who died a couple of years ago aged 100.

My George was born in Kansas City,Kansas also, His Brother Frank died in 2003. my George also had a brother Joe and 2 sisters . I know 1 was called Marie. My George was born in 1916. came to Ohio and raised a family and died 1999, would love to hear a reply from George Jr.

Where abouts in Kansas did they grow up? I had a great grandfather Jacob and a his brother Frank Mance that lived in Kansas City, Kansas around 1910? Must be some connection there.

Back last July you post something interesting, your first post which was a mistake caught my eye, you named Frank Mance and Antonia Yurkovich, I had great grand parents named Frank Braidic and Kathern Yurkovick, Frank and Kathern Braidic had a daughter named Mildred Braidic which Married my grandfather Carl Mance. I found this wierd because two rare names, Mance and Yurkovich (not to mention Frank also), came up in the same line. While there is a bit of a gap I want to know if this has any connection.
