In search of Mangus Manges family. Decendant from Michael Mangus Sr b, 1810, m Catherine Merriman b. 1807, Michael Jr b 1841 Bedford Pa. m Mary Sweetwood b 1844 Bedford Pa.
Michael Jr served in the Civil War Private, Co I 39th Reg., Pa Vol. somewhere down the line the spelling was changed to Manges for some reason ???? after Michael his son Frank Monroe, his son Harold my mom Florence Manges. I'm at a brick wall with my family this is about all the information I have other than siblings names & approximate dates. In notes from mom it says " The family came from East of the Alleghenys and settles in Cochranton Pa."
