Mannix=Minogue Sometimes

In parts of East Clare and North Tipperary Mannix was used interchangably with Minogue as an anglicized form of the old Irish name O'Muineog. The root word was believed to be "monk" and refered to this family which attached themselves as lay members to a medieval monastic community. Regards,Peter Patten
