My father Jack Mannix used to say our name was related to Minogue. I have been tracing all lines of his family: Lot Mannix arrived in Sydney 1839 with family, from County Cork (if only because that's where they departed from) probably coming from Bradford or Flag Mount, near Feckle, County Clare. It was said he had brothers, perhaps already here. Lot went to SF, CA, USA in 1849 but returned to NSW almost immediately. He had five sons and two daughters. His eldest son was Patrick c. 1837-1871. He was, like his father, a tailor. I have a gedcom file, would like to see file of original poster.
