I am LD's son, also named William after grandpa Mansel. Grandpa's wife was Renora Pipkin. I have information from their graves on my home computer, which I can send if you want it. I have researched our Mansel heritage back as far as William in 1805, but cannot seem to go any further. We seem to have quite a family in England and Wales, but cannot link it directly. How are you? My wife and I still live in Mont Belvieu, TX. I gave up law enforcement and for the past 8 years have worked for Barbers Hill ISD in their technology department. I'm fairly certain we are related. My grandfather was Wm Thad Mansel, and my mother was Margaret Etta Mansel. Are you LD's son? Have you found anything about his wife? I think Grandma Mansel, Nora, was really Renora Pipkin.

Does anyone have information on the ancestry of William Mansell b. 1805 NC? I would very much appreciate any information on parents, grandparents, etc. William Mansell, had several children including Robert Mansel, b. 1842 AL. Robert was my great grandfather. His son, William Thad Mansel, b. 1868 Pike Co, AL, was my grandfather.

I have also seen my family named spelled MANTZEL, MENTZEL and MENZEL. Mine came from a small village called Bullendorf in Bohemia, which is now in the Czech Republic. They emmigrated to Texas in 1855. If you think we might have any information to share please contact me.

The only info I have is that my g grandpa was Matthew Mensel he married Rose Ballun. They also were from the Czech Republic. Rose came from Trestena. I don't know if Matthew had any brothers & sisters. The family always pronouned the name is Mansel. I always wondered why when they spelled it with an "e". Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have the family tree done for Matthew but after that there is no help on his family. We just don't know anything. I'm sure he had cousins & aunts and uncles. Could go back further than both of us know. If you can help it would be great. Look forward to hearing from you.

I believe that Joseph E. Mansell was a brother to my great great grandfather, H. P. Mansell. My grandfather said his grandfather was called H. P., and also that he went by Harle.
Harley Porter was in Pushmataha County, OK. This is also where my grandfather's family is from.. My great-grandfather's name was Porter Douglas Mansell. I am doing more research and would like to hear from you. Kelly Figureoa

My great great grandmothers married name was Mansel. I don't know the name of her husband. She remarried and her name was Fannie Mansel Grey (I believe the spelling is correct). Her daughter (my great grandmother) is Jewel, she also had a son Howard, she had other children also, not sure of all the names. I know one of them I call Uncle Red, he lives around Dallas, Texas, not sure what his real name is though...can anyone help me? I just started this and I'm not sure where to go from here.

Just found new documents and we always spelled the name Mencel but new docs spell the name Mansel. My g grandpa was Matthew Mansel. Believe he came from Czech. I have the family tree pretty much completed. Can't find if he had brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Have sketchy information that Joseph E. Mansel served in Confederate Army, Killed at Chancelorsville, buried in Civil War cemetary in Fredricksburg. He was the older brother of my Great Grandfather R. G. W. Mansel who then ran away and joined up at age 15. Any information would help.

My mothers parents were Robert Muenzel and Clarice Tio. I have been told that my great grandparents are Eunice Lamphire and Louis Muenzel. And his parents names were Henry Muenzel (Henniech) and Hannah Mohr. But I haven't found anything about them. I was also told that Henry was a Professor of Languages, and he was from France and the mystery of this message is, i was told that some part of the family were forbidden to speak french, and my cousin and I figured out that our parents didn't talk much about their ancesters. Yes, this is the same family!!!! I recieved this info from my mother. Some of her info came from Erma Brixby. I have also recieved info on the Mansell family since I posted the original querry, from a Michael Mansell who is distantly related and says Elvis Presley is a Mansel too. Have you heard this also. I dont doubt that he could be family from 200 years ago, but I doubt he fits in exactly to us the way many researchers have it. I would love to exchange info with you. Do you have any info on Mary Ann? I have that she had a brother named Frank but that is about all. We have a possible lead that her father could be an Alex. Cant wait to hear from you.

Hello:

The Mansells and the Munsells split off around the time of Queen Elizabeth I. The name was originaly Maunsell and some of them still exist today.

Most Munsells in the New World descend from Thomas Munsell who arrived in Connecticut prior to 1680.

I noticed your message . My madien name is Mansell although, after recently doing some research. I have had a few papers returned to me with my family name being spelled Munsell. I'm at a loss or a road block in trying to find any further info on my family. I do know that I am related to Sir Robert Mansell of England and the glass making in England but am having a hard time finding his parents or much after him. My family in the states I can trace which is where I come up with the two different spellings. Would like to talk to you in hopes that you can possibly help.
