Is the surname Manton uncommon?

I first posted my message in April of 1999 regarding my great-great grandmother Catherine Manton who was born in 1822 in Gortnahoe parish in Tipperary Co. She married a William O'Meara in 1838. I am curious to know from any of you who are doing their family histories if you found that the name Manton is quite uncommon.
