Would like to exchange information with others researching the MANTZ family that lived in Frederick, Maryland.
My line of descent is listed as follows:
1. Wendel MANTZ (Muentz), wife unknown, of the Zurich area of Switzerland emigrated to the Village of Batten in Baden, Southwest Germany.
2. Casper MANTZ, Sr., wife unknown of Baden.
3. (Johan) Casper MANTZ, Jr. was born in Baden in 1718, and died in 1791. He emigrated in 1738 to Philadelphia, Chester Co. Pennsylvania, and married in 1752, (Anna) Christina Heim of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Casper died at Frederick, Maryland 28 February 1791, age listed as 2-10-20. This would make him born 8 April 1718. He is listed as having two brothers, Peter, and Francis, and 8 children, Francis, Charlotte, Catherine, Peter, Isaac, Esther, David, and John. He was buried in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, Maryland. Casper Mance is listed on the Frederick County, Maryland, Muster Rolls, circa 1757.
4. Francis MANTZ was born 26 January 1749, died 22 May 1823, and was buried in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, Maryland. He married Maria "Anna" "Mary" Burckhartt, born 3 June 1754, died 12 May 1818, buried Mount Olivet Cemetery.
5. Christiana MANTZ, 1778-13 February, 1862. Married 17 August 1813, David Barr, 17 October 1788 - 14 April 1846. They were married in Frederick, Maryland. They later lived in Hagerstown, Washington Co. Maryland.
6. Martha Jane Barr, 1825- married John Absalom WROE.
