I sure seem to be having no luck with this connection to the MAR family either from Virginia or Georgia. I have on my Grandfather's death certificate an informer (person giving the info) as a Willie Mar SCOTT who could be either male or female. This person was living in Atlanta in 1946. Most likely my guess is that Willie is a female, MAR her maiden name and SCOTT her married. My Grandfather's name was Clarence HAWKINS who was born 1920 in GA to Will HAWKINS and Minnie MORRISON. This family also has a Cherokee connection. Can anyone expand on this?
