He attended the local elementary school in Chipping Warden until such time as
the family moved to Middleton Cheney. They remained there for another two
years until moving to 44 Reginald Terrace Roundhay Leeds

In 1958 at the age of 10 the family left England from the port of Southampton
on the MV Fairsea to emigrate to Australia. In Melbourne the family stayed
with Jack and Millicent White, an aunt, in Clayton before moving to Girgarre
near Kyabram Victoria.

Ron attended Girgarre State school and then Kyabram High school, followed by a
short period at the Echuca Technical School. His first job was with KY
Canneries as an Apprentice Fitter and Turner. The family then left Girgarre
and made their home in Tallarook near Seymour Victoria.

Ron then worked for Australia Post as a telegram boy for less than a year
before going to the Victorian Railway's Newport Workshops as a Lad Trainee,
heating rivets for rolling stock repair. He then went to Sinclair's Garage at
Broadford as a Lube Attendant where he stayed for a short time until
commencing a Motor Mechanic Apprenticeship with Ralph Wilson in Seymour.

Whilst thus employed Ron also worked weekends for Harry Hinton Transport
servicing trucks which he continued to do when he cut short his apprenticeship
and went to work for the Commonwealth Department of Construction at
Puckapunyal Army Base.

He was then offerred full time employment with Harry Hinton as a truck
mechanic and remained there until Harry Hinton died and the business was taken
over on 7/7/1968. Whilst in the employ of Harry Hinton he married Pamela Joy
Berry on 8/6/1968 at the Presbyterian Church in Seymour. They first resided at
8 Grattan St for a period of 12 months before moving into their newly built
home at 135 Tarcombe Rd Seymour.

Ron then worked for Parker Brothers Earthmoving Constructions for some 12
months, then Peter North Service Station, Mob Siding, Asco Service Station,
Halls Transport and Fitzpatrick Bros Vineyards.Ron finally ended up at
Crommert Motors on 15/6/1973 working as a mechanic and remained in this
employment until he was due for his 10 years long service leave, when he
resigned.

While in the latter employment he attended night school at the Seymour Tafe
and obtained his Motor Mechanic Certificate on 19/7/1976, his Senior Motor
Mechanic Certificate on 7/10/1976 and the following year his "A" Grade

Authority in Morwell Victoria. As a result he and his family moved to 3a Bruce
St Moe and then to a 5 acre farmlet at RMB 7620 O'Briens Rd Westbury Via
Trafalgar, just out of Moe.

Ron and Pam produced 2 children Anthony Craig and Jacqueline Antoinette. The
RTA was amalgamated with the RCA and became Vicroads and Ron's position became
redundant so he applied for and obtained the position of Transport Safety
Officer. He remained at Vicroads until March 1998 when he applied for and
obtained a position as a Bus Auditor for the Public Transport Safety
