Surnames: Marcos, Marcus, Benson
Maria was born in Texas about 1915 to Mexican parents. She was Mexican. Her parents were supposed to have been Ben Marcos (Marcus) and Josephine (perhaps Josefina).
The 1930 census for Justice Precinct 6, Presidio County, Texas has her listed as being single and a farm cook.
She married John Clement Benson about 1930. That may have been in either Presidio County or Brewster County. Does anyone have any details about that? They were living in Grant County, Oklahoma, in May 1931.
The obit says shew as born in Marfa, Texas, but there is no record of that. According to hearsay she was born in Laredo, Texas. Does anyone have any information about her birth?
