My father was born in Cohaw, near Cootehill. His name was Bernard. His father was John Markey. His mother was Bridget or Ellen Boyle. He went to America and I believe he sailed on the RMS Teutonic arriving on the 10 June 1896 along with Philip, Andrew and Francis Markey, Patrick McEntee. John took out American Citizenship in 1904 approx. but returned to Ireland at some point around the First World War. I am not sure if the above named Markeys perhaps married and stayed on in America. I believe my grandparents married in America but have not been able to find details of this. The Mullen family was also related to our family.
