Re: Ernest Markie, spouse of Maude Anderson??

I keep looking at this to try and find a connection.
But i cannot see a connection of an Anderson to an Ernest Markie, Or even a Maude Anderson
What i have found and i am not sure if this has anything to do with it at all is the following
Shirley Agnes Markie b 1902 St Paul, Minnosota
married george Anderson
In fact Shirley married 3 times and George Anderson was the 2nd Husband
Also a David Anderson married roseann Markie she was the daughter of Cecil Earl Markie again St Paul. Minnosota,
Both are connected to the same family.
In an early posting there was numbers on the back, could this be anything to do with the army ?
Could Maude be connected to either of these familys, or perhaps an Aunt ?
But you do have be quite baffled !
if you want to contact me direct you can on drewsankie@btinternet.com

Ian Markie

My Great Grandmother was Genevieve Markie, daughter of John Markie and Ana (have found no surname). Genevieve was born Nov. 28, 1850 , in Cantans, Zurich, Switzerland, she married John Wahl, Oct. 30, 1871 in Milan, Erie, Ohio. Her parents both died in Norwalk, Huron, Ohio, John on Oct. 18, 1870 age 64, and Ana, April 9, 1896 at age 85. I have found one other child for John and Ana, Jacob Markie, who married a Rosa Grossweiler, in Norwalk, Huron, Ohio Oct. 2, 1877. Thats all I have on this family. I do have children for John Wahl and Genevieve Markie. E-mail me if you are interested.

Frank Markie born in Madawaska, Maine

I'm having a heck of a time finding anything on my great grandfather, Frank Markie born in Madawaska,Maine around 1860. I believe also that he was either part Micmac or Caribau Indian from around the New Brunswick area. He married Phebe Mishoe probably around late 1870. Their childrens names were: William born approx. 1880, George, Mattie, Thomas, Lottie, Frank born Feb. 5,1894 which is my grandfather, and Joseph born around 1896. He later married a Ciena (phonetic)? Ouelette and she had two children, Patrick and Agnes. This is all of the "word of mouth info" I have. Spellings are approximate and I would be grateful for any information I would receive. Thank you!

Hello Ian,

I am researching my in-laws side of the family. My mother-in-law's maiden name is Lancaster, her grandmother was married to a Lawrence Markie ,(this was her 4th or 5th husband. Her name originally was Helen or Ellen Lancaster(we believe), and we know she was a cook to Col. Parker of the Northamptonshire Regiment during WWII. Does this ring any bells? We are trying to uncover her origins, parents, etc, and this is the first time I have encountered anyone with a shred of possibility to linking to her. She was known as "Nanny Markie", and definitely spelled the same exact way.
Would love to correspond and see if we can help each other.

Sincerely,
Gigi Jennings

Hi Ian,
IF you still have the info on Lawrence Markie of Northampton,
I am still interested. We had touched base on this back in February. We are specifically interested in the mariage date for he and Eliz. Ellen Lancaster(maiden), her name could have been
Eliz. Ellen Green or Alexander also. She had a couple of marriages previous to Lawrence. This would have been probably in the late 1930's, early 1940's? Let me know if there's anything else you need to help find the date and place of their marriage, okay?

Thanks in advance!
Gigi Jennings

Hi Ian,

Awhile back we exchanged short messages regarding Lawrence Markie and Nellie , his wife, who was my mother-in-law's grandmother. Nellie was originally a Lancaster and had
four children, Gilbert Lancaster, Margery "Madge", Sarah "Sally", and Isabel "Belle". You mentioned that you knew this family well. We know that Nellie and Lawrence didn't have any children, but, we are trying to locate "Belle", if she is still alive and wondered if you may have any old info on her last known address.

Also, as we have been pursuing Nellie's origins', we wondered if any of the Markie family would have any photos of her or the children, or just her and Lawrence. We have recently found the rest of her siblings were in Canada and are trying to compare photos, alas, we have precious few of them when they were younger.

I know this is tall order, wondered about any light your famiy may be able to shed on "Nellie" during the time she and Lawrence were married, any recollections, anything.

Thanks in advance, hope to hear from you soon,

Gigi Jennings

He married a native american indian (all of them are from Maine and belong to the MicMac tribe. They had their children but what happens with searching for your native american linage is that nothing has been recorded. My grandmothers birth certificate was bured in a fire on the reservation. I guess I will just have to work harder and contact the indian census bureau in MA.

Thanks for your help
