John Dexter Marlow, 64, peacefully passed away at Roper Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina, on March 25, 2009, after waging a losing battle with cancer.

He is survived by his mother, Ellen Fouty Marlow of Coshocton, Ohio; and four sisters, Mary Lancaster of Coshocton, Ohio, Alice (Clifford) Greer of Albany, Ohio, Sharon Colley of Old Town, Florida, and Debra Bell of Albany, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; his father, Dexter; and a brother, James Anthony (Nancy) of Tacoma, Washington.

Mr. Marlow was a member of the Army's Green Beret 5th Special Forces during the Vietnam Era, and proudly received his paratrooper wings from President Kennedy. He was awarded the Bronze Star with an oak leaf cluster for valor during his service in Vietnam. Mr. Marlow was proud of his service to our country and often regaled family members with stories of his experiences as a Green Beret during the Vietnam War.
His ashes will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery on June 26th, 2009.
