My ancestors with the MARRON,MARON,MAROHN surname came from Kreis Greifenberg, Prussia. I have traced the name from there as well as the name of WERGIN,FROHRICH,TANK, and MILDEBRATH going back to 1817. My gg-grandfather was Carl Georg Heinrich MARRON. He was born on 1817 in Stolitz, Prussia, near Greifenberg, Prussia. and he died in Clark County WI. He was married to Sophia Freidericke Henriette WERGIN, who was born on 1819 in Kussin, Greifenberg, Prussia. Together they had 9 children born in Parpart, Greifenberg, Prussia.

They were:
Ferdinand Friedrith August MARRON, Johan Carl August MARRON, Friederike Wilhelmine Louise MARRON, Bertha Auguste Emilia MARRON, Emilie Albertine Rosaline MARRON, Augusta Amelia Rosalina MARRON, Albertina Frederike Alwine MARRON, Heinrich Friedrich Wilhelm MARRON, Rosaline Wilhelmine Conradine MARRON.

Most of these MARRONs moved to the USA in the late 1870s and early 1880s and some perhaps in the 1860s. Illinois and Wisconsin are the states that I am familiar with as to the location of some of the surnames of MARRON, TANK, WERGIN AND MILDEBRATH. It was common to find in the USA, the name of MARRON, spelled MAROHN and MARON.

Would be glad to share information.
