No, I do not know the correct spelling on Mary Ellen's last name. Mabel Winn lived by herself outside of Warren in later years and I have a picture of her when she was in her 80's. Her children came and took her to Penn. where she died and is buried. Some of her children live in Pa. I have some notes scribbled down on her but would have to dig for them. I don't know much about he Brown family yet, I am sorry to say.

Do you have any more info on Mabel Winn, or Frank & William Brown (birth/death dates, locations, etc)?

So far, everything I've seen on Mary Ellen has her last name spelling as Faust, not Foust. Do you know which is correct?

Donna works for the U.S. Navy as a NCIS Forensic Agent and her husband works for the Government,
Michelle passed away in 2007 from a Drug Overdose.
Their other daughter moved to Alaska with her husband who is in the Air Force.
Any message you would like me to pass on to her?

Josephus Marquett (born 1823) was my 2nd great grandfather. I'm doing reasearch on this side of the family now. I have quite a bit of information, but of course am always looking for more.

A copupe questions to start with:

Does anyone know when Josephus died? The Youngstown city directories all list Martha as widowed (even if Josephus appears on them with her) as far back as 1893-94.

What is the correct spelling of Mary Ellen's maiden name - Foust or Faust? I've seen it spelled both ways.

Does anyone know the names of Josephus's parents? I now his father was born in France, but that's all I know.

Thanks for your reply Nan. The Albert Marquette I'm looking for is not related to me in any way, so I know nothing but what I have posted. The situation is this, I was given some personal items of his by a family member of mine. The items were won in a poker game sometime in the past 25 years in Wichita, KS. I would very much like to see these important items returned to the family of Mr. Marquette.
Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

I am sending this e-mail to you,I to am not sure if we have anything in common,with the Marquette name.
My grfather mother was a amelia marquette,from N.Y.in the 1800 hundreds.
She give him away to the orphanage in Sandusky,Ohio.His b-day was in 1888.She married a John W.Taylor,I haven't found anything on him,so if he really was his father or not I don't know for sure.If you think there is anyone with these names in your family ,please let me know.....

My great grandmother was Amelia Marquette...born in New york
in 1854.

Lived in Sandusky,Ohio was married to John w. Taylor in 1863

She had my grandfather in 1888...from there I really can't find her.

I ask that you provide a middle name, place of residence in 1946, and any other info if possible so that I will know I have the correct family.

MY dad was Keith Marquette,His dad was George Marquette,George dad was Edward Marquette.Edward dad was John Marquette.He was a copper and also build funeral boxes.They all come from towns like,Mountain Ontario,Inkerman Ontario,Winchester Ontario.

My great-grandmother was Julie Marquette Guedry. Her father, I think, was Aubert Marquette. I saw a picture of her when she was 5 years old. She was seated with her family. That is all that I know, but I heard that my Marquette family of Louisiana came from Columbia, South America..last name Marquez or Marquet. Do you have any other information?

OBITUARY

C. Lynn Evans, age 89, of Minerva, died December 11, 2003.

He was born October 27, 1914 in Cumberland, W. Va., son of the late Ray and Blanche ( Marquette ) Evans.

Lynn was a member of the Minerva United Methodist Church. He volunteered for the United States Army and served in Europe during World War II.

Lynn moved to Minerva in 1934 to be employed at the Cronin China Company. He became a carpenter and spent his spare time fixing clocks "unofficially" retiring in 1978, but still spent the majority of his retirement time buying and renovating area homes.

Lynn is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law : Gordon ( Sue ) Evans of Mechanicstown , Jerry ( Fran ) Evans of Minerva , Randy (Corey) Evans of Alliance ;

three daughters and sons-in-law : Judith Jobes of Minerva , Penny ( Matt ) Zeedrich of Minerva and Dixie ( Paul ) Soehnlen of Minerva ;

17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Susan ( Sayre ) Evans ; and his son, Curtis " Butch " Evans.

Following cemation, a memorial service with military honors was held December 14th in the Minerva United Methodist Church, with Rev. Shirley Lewis officiating. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Gotschall-Hutchinson Funeral Home of Minerva.

Interment followed in the Liberty Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Minerva United Methodist Church at 203 North Main Street.

Hi Lori, John B and Anna Falvey Marquette were my husband's gr-grandparents. His grandmother was Regina Marquette who married Thomas Foley (2nd wife) and had several children. My husband's mother, Mabel, was born in B.C Canada in 1908 and is still living. I haven't done a lot of research on this line, but will share what I have. Jeannie

My great- grandparents were William John and Hattie (Harriet) Marquette. William John Marquette b:July 2, 1870 d:Aug. 8, 1930, sons; John, Lloyd, and George. John and Hattie traveled back and forth between Wisconsin and Washington and Idaho areas following the timber. Another son Thomas Marquette was born in the Dakotas. He preceded his father in death. Hi Dennis, One of these photographs may be of my great-uncle George Marquette, who lived in that general area about that time. If the photos are still available, I would love to take a look at them. He and his brother Tom (my grandfather) did not get along, so we know little about George except that he may have had a drinking problem and was killed in an auto accident at a fairly young age. the edward i am speaking of was married to ruby jincks. his father albert was born in the 1800's because my grandpa was born in 1913. i don't think he had any brothers but maybe hi did. maybe he's a brother or a cousin?

Greetings to the Marquette family. I stumbled across a couple of old photos which might be of interest to the Marquette's out there. One is of a very nice looking gentleman from the early 1900's, taken by Hartley Portraits in Chicago. On the back is handwritten "To Aunt Jane . . . Jesse H. Marquette." The second photo is on thin camera paper, and depicts a street scene in a business district. On the back is handwritten "George Marquette, 1962 Lawrence Ave., Chicago, Sale Room - Garage, George standing at door, Taken April 10, 1918" In the picture, one can clearly read "George Marquette, Dodge Brothers Motor Cars, Service Station" on the shop window.
Anyone in the family interested in having these pics?

My wife's father was Albert Marquette. I believe he died about 1990 in Florida. He also live in the Detroit, Michigan area before getting divorced in the 1960's, I think. Albert's parents were Edward and Lydia (Lawrence) Marquette who were married in Little Falls, NY in 1912. I'd love to hear from anyone who thinks they are related, since I'm having a hard time tracing my wife's family.

Hi Aunt Gay! I've been doing a lot of family research lately and have come across some fairly extensive family background. I will get copies for distribution to all the family the next time I get home...

I am looking for Francisco Marquet on immigration roles around the 1800's. I know he is listed there and just need to make the time to get date and place of origin. Because so many of the family ancestors have roots in the Canary Islands (Both the Marquette and the Vandrell sides), I'm thinking the "Colombia connection" is speculation and believe that Francisco was never in Columbia. Has anyone checked the Plattenville cemetary for info?

Interestingly, Franciso married a Henrietta (Henriette) Bourg.

Hi. Looking for the parents and place and date of birth of Celina Marquette. She married Martin Jewell/Joyal Abt 1870.
Censuses of 1870 and 1880 report that she was born in Illinois to French-Canadian parents. She died in Wallingford Vt, in 1880 and according to cemetery records, she was 30 years old so she may have been born abt 1850.

I am looking for any info on my husband's Grandmother, Evelyn Audrey Marquette. This was her birth name. She was adopted by Max and May Smith and her name was changed at that point to Violet Lorraine Smith. Max later passed and May remarried Jess Eldridge. May and Jess were the people my husband knew as his great grandparents. Evelyn had 2 birth sisters that I am aware of, one named Connie and one named Bernice (Billie).

Any onfo is much appreciated.
