Blanquillo was the father of Julio Marrero who died in New Jersey. "Papa Julio" was the father of the singer and composer Raul Marrero. Tio Raul (my great-uncle) was extremely close to Blanquillo, as the latter was his grandfather. In other words Blanquillo was my great-great grandfather. However, Calatsanz is a last name, and therefore was not his middle name. It's a shame that back then there were so many family secrets that now the younger generation has to decipher. The last names go father, mother, fathers
side, mothers side. Somewhere along the line he adopted "Blanquillo Marrero" as his name. Why? Who knows. In other words there's no doubt we are Marreros. However, in reality after Miranda we are missing the 2nd last name on the mothers side. In closing "Blanquillos" name was Jose Calasanz.
