I have a John William Marsh in my tree, with those parents. The only thing is I thought he was born in 1844 in Deal. However, my aunt always claimed that his father was a shoemaker, so this may be the one. I have a lot of Marsh relatives from this area too. I would love the certificate anyway. How do we go about this?

Hi Dorothy,
I don't know if we're related, but will be more than happy to claim you ...lol Here's what I am sure of, my Hiram T. Marsh was born May 11, 1842 to Silas & Mercy "Streeter" Marsh. I have often wondered if your Hiram Marsh 1807-???? was a brother to my Silas Marsh 1802-????.

I can not find documentation of who Silas's father was, and that makes Silas my brick wall.

Now, as for Abigail Marsh, it is actually Abigail Thayer "Adams" Marsh she was the daughter of Nahum George & Ann "Blanchard" Adams. I do know that Abigails Adams line does married into the Thayer Line.

If you want to chat more plz e-mail me at lqqker_3@yahoo.com or use yahoo messenger.

Theresa

Not sure if you will get this as it has been years since you inquired. Not sure if you even still need info but my grandmother was Fred's sister Dorothy. I know a bit of the family tree but not a ton. Fred Sr. died several years back (march 2002)and my grandma died almost 2 years ago at 91. Fred Sr. was born 1910 from my records and his children are Fred Jr, Alice, Ward, & Carol. He actually married my parents because he was a minister.

I am a direct Descendant of GEORGE MARSH, born 1580-1592, England. His son Onesiphorus Marsh is my direct descendant.

Our surname has been changed over the years from MARSH to MASH to NASH by 1860-1870. I was raised a NASH.
My Marsh branch are descendants of a Quaker, John Marsh, who settled in Armagh, Ireland before 1640. His great-grandson, also John Marsh, was born in Armagh Ireland around 1702 and died in York Co., Pennsylvania around 1769. Somehow, his son, William, was born in Maryland and died in Bracken Co., Kentucky. The next generation saw Richard Marsh move into Clermont Co., Ohio. That's where my branch stayed for quite a few generations after that until the family made a split between California, Arizona, and Michigan. Unfortunately, my grandfather has passed on before I was born, but I still have three great-aunts and a great-uncle.

Doubt this is helpful to anyone, but it would sure be nice to meet some more cousins. :) Send me an e-mail: farrohcious@sunflower.com
