Hello: My great great grandfather was a Martel. His name was Rafael Miranda, I believe his mother was a Martel. We were told we had Irish in all of us. My great grandfather was born in Arizona. He had red hair and green eyes. I have a photo from the 1800's of whom I believe is a Martel and his Native American Wife. Does anyone know of this family. My grandfather was born in California, his name was Ernest, brother's were Samuel, James, Frank, sisters were Francisca, Conception/Chonita,and Carrie. They lived between Santa Maria, Ca. and San Diego. There mother's name was Mary Martinez??another mystery in it's self. Thank-You
