Hello, I’m looking for my family tree. I was born in Cosquin, Argentina in 1965. My father, Carlos Marton was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1928. My Grand father’s name was Karoly Marton, born in 1900. As far as I know, Near 1927 he got married with Marika Sonner in Osijek, Croatia, and then they flew to Argentina due to politics problems.
My G father’s parents were: Karoly Marton (again…) and Zsuzsanna Zador. I will apreciate any data. Thank you!
Hi Irene,

I'm Joseph Marton and I live in Ontario, Canada. My dad and grandfather are also both named Joseph. My dad came to Canada in 1956. My grandfather stayed in Hungary until he died a few years ago. My dad's family came from a small town in Hungary called Mako, near Szeged. I do not know anything more about my family history past my grandfather.

I can find out more from my dad if you have any questions.

Re: George and Thomas Marton

I am the mother of Thomas Marton's only living daughter. My name is Lori. Tommy and I were married in 1978, the same year our daughter, Danyielle Marton was born. Tommy died in March of 1983. Tommy's father and mother, George and Edith Marton (Anya and Uppa), Danyielle's grandparents, came over to New York from Budapest, Hungary in 1956 or 1957 with their oldest children in tow (also named George and Edith) and Edith pregnant with their third child. Tommy was born Thomas Marton, in New York on August 28th, 1957. I am searching for Marton's belonging to Danyielle's family, her blood-line, her birth-right. Anya and Uppa will not acknowledge her but her Uncle George or her Aunt Edith, their children... Teresa, Jesse, Amy, Little Tommy are all her blood too. She is a MARTON!! Please contact me!! Allow Danyielle to reunite with her family, regardless of what Uppa has to say. How can this family do this to Tommy's only living descendant?? If you are a Marton of which I speak, PLEASE RESPOND! Danyielle will be 30 this year and it is foolish to continue to hold something against her for whatever she may have said or done as a teenager. PLEASE RESPOND!!

Neely, Marton, Godwin, Wolfe, Parrish, Arrell

I’m looking for information on Neely’s in Texas.
I have a David Philip Neely and I think he died in northern Texas – possibly in the Grayson County area sometime after 1909.
He married Mary Marton probably before 1901.
Their children were:
*Charles Wesley Thomas Neely, b. 5/6/1901, Snow Hill, Collin County, TX; d. 6/19/1977, Sweet Home, Linn County, OR
*Clara Neely Wolfe, b. after 1903. Believe she lived in Lubbock TX on Sixth St. and Baylor St.
*David C. Neely, b. after 1905. He married Alta Unknown. Their children were: Perry Neely, Roy Glen Neely
*Hazel Neely Parrish, b. aft 1906.
*Goldie Neely, b. aft 1908.

After David Philip Neely died Mary Marton Neely married Unknown Godwin.
Their children were:
*Clint Godwin, b. after 1910.
*Cleo Godwin, b. after 1912.

All children were raised by Godwin so I’m assuming David Philip Neely died.

Charles Wesley Thomas Neely married Jessie Whitworth 5/1/1920. Their children were:
*Roy Thomas Neely, b. 2/9/1921, Dennison, Grayson County, TX.
*David Hiram Neely, b. 7/25/23, Alba, Wood County, TX.
*Sybil Nadine Neely Arrell, b. 7/29/1926, Alba, Wood County, TX.
*Lena Mavis Neely, b. 4/7/1929, d. 1933.
*Patsy Guerlane Neely McKinney, b. 6/12/1931, Plainview, Hale County, TX.
*Lila Charlene Neely Wolgamott, b. 2/23/1934, Alba, Wood County, TX.
*Broderick NMN Neely, b. 7/14/1941, El Paso, TX.

I’m desperate for information on the Neely side of the family. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Jessie (my new e-mail address is kenmccoy@gulf.net)

Rita:
My grandfather's name was Gyorgy Marton and he also came from Veszprem County in Hungary. He passed away before I was born, so I never met him. Maybe we are related somehow.

Eva Marton

I have limited information on my side of the Marton family. All I know is that my great grandfather's name was George Marton. He lived and died in Minneapolis, MN. He married a woman by the name of Anna Biena (we're not even sure of the spelling or the exact name). She came over from Prague when she was 16. George may have had a brother by the name of Oscar. George and Anna had 2 children John (Jack) and William (Bill). Jack is my father.

If any of this sounds remotely familiar, an email would be great.

Thanks,
Sharon

GGfather Karoly Marton

Just wondering-- is Marton a Jewish name? My GGfather's family was Catholic here in the US (his wife was strongly Catholic), but should I check Jewish records in Hungary? I have not yet figured out his city of origin. (Karoly Marton b October 1886 in Hungary, son of Karoly Marton and Maria Kurscivis) If he was Jewish, and married a Catholic, that would explain why he forbade his wife to contact his Hungarian family. Hmmm....
