Hi Janet

I assume the Richard Heritage you referred to was the father of Joseph Heritage who married Hannah Allen.

Keziah Matlack was the daughter of John Matlack and his second wife Mary Lee. I am descended from John and his first wife Hannah Horner.

I have not done much research on Keziah and her husband Benjamin Heritage. What little I have comes from the records of Chalkley Matlack and an abstract of the will of Keziah’s father, John Matlack.

What is it you are looking for?

Curt
Hi Bettina,

In my file I have the descendants of 4 of Marion and Effie's 11 children, Coralie is not one of them. Would you mind sharing some data on her line? And possibly on the following children: Violet, Alton, Belzora, Jacey, Nola and Lela Mittis Matlock.

If I can share any data with you, just let me know. My e-mail address is KeepOnTuckin@aol.com. Just make sure you don't make it "truckin" or "trucking."

Debbie

The only thing close I have in my file is for Elcana D. Matlock b. 1825, TN...father was William b. 1769 and mother was Ruth Rockhold. Elcana had a son named William H. Matlock...but, I doubt this is the family you are searching for. I'll keep my eyes open for anything closer.

Good hunting!

Shelia

Hi Joni,
I married into the Matlock family and have a question. Arvin Matlock and Cortensia Marie Harrington's Son, Clyde Delano is my husband Dean's dad. So Arvin was my husband's grandfather. My question is, do you have any information on Arvin and Cortensia's son (Dean's uncle)Alvin Arvin Matlock born in 1930? We suspect that he was murdered and his body has not been found. Thank you very much for your time,
Daphne Matlock

Re: WILLIAM MATLOCK

I'm descended from William Matlock, brother to Isham and Matilda, and son of the William Matlock who wrote the will on October 19, 1825. My g.g.grandfather, William Jr., was only 9 months old when his Father wrote the will.
I, too, have hit the brick wall on this line. However, there is a family story told to me by my late uncle, Arnold Matlock Shanks, stating that his Grandfather Matlock's parents and one set of grandparents died after drinking from a of poisoned well. This is unproven, but would explain why William does not provide for a wife (just deceased) and is willing everything, including a corn crop, to his children.
I've posted this on TNgenweb, in hopes someone can check other deaths records for the same time peroid in Madison Co. Also, my G.G. Grandfather's full name was William Thompson Matlock (Medlock). The Thompson may indicate his mother's maiden name.
If anyone can learn anything with this information, please let me know!

Re: Matlock's from Franklin Co., TN, Madison & Desoto Co., MS

I am looking for information on Elizabeth Ann Matlock, born 1819 in Franklin Co, TN. She is the daughter of James Madison Matlock (1799-1848) and maybe William Matlock (1757-(1816). She married Joseph Taylor in DeSoto Co, MS. He died in 1844. She then married William Gowan Anderson in 1845 and moved to Texas. I would love to know if she had any siblings and what lineage she had.
