My ancestor Charles Seiwell was a son of Maria Mauck & Anton Seiwell b. 1773 Montgomery Co, PA. They had 3 children prior to Anton's death in July 1810. His will, dated 3 months earlier, indicates Anthony Seiwell of Pottstown Twp is indisposed but of sound mind and names his wife, Mary, & father-in-law Conrad Mauch as executors. The will was proved by Conrad Mauch in Aug 1810 Montgomery Co, PA.
The "Commemorative Biographical of Center, Clinton, Union & Snyder Counties, PA" 1898 states: Polly Mauch married John Siple, who died in IL. Polly married a 2nd time to Feldy Hawes, who died in Pekin, IL. (Feldy is a nickname for Valentine)
Charles Seiwell b. 1810 & Arnold Seiwell b. 1806 appear to have arrived near Pekin, Tazewell Co, IL with the family of Valentine Haas b. 17 May 1786 Montgomery Co, PA & Mary Magdalena Mauck b. 26 July 1786, prior to 1840.
By 1820 this couple had three children, Edward b. 1814, Stephen b. 1816 Union Co, PA & Eli b. 1817 Union Co, PA. In that year, the census shows a Valentine Haas in Union Co with five male children in the household. Three of these males were under ten and the other two were ages 10-16 (?the Seiwell boys). We believe this to be the family of Valentine & Mary Magdalena, but to date their identities have eluded us and Haas family researchers.
Is this Mary Magdalena an unidentified daughter of Conrad Mauck? If not who is she and who was the Maria "Mary" Mauck, daughter of Conrad, who was married to Anton Seiwell?
