I've just started to trace my family tree but with little success. Anyone knowing anything regarding this surname and would like to impart knowledge to me I would really be grateful. It gives me something to search through. All I know is that my grandfather's name was William Frederick Maughan and lived in the Middlesbrough, Northhumberland area late 1800's to early 1900's.
