I am researching my husband's family tree. His Great Grandparents were: John MAUTNER B: abt 1850 in Hungary. John married: Mary Anna "Maria" PFISTER/PFISTER in Hungary. They had two children: a daugther (Name Unknown) and a son Mihaly (Michael,) who immigrated to United States and married a lady, who also immigrated to the United States from the same area (Vienna). by the name of Agnes Werner. Mihaly was born in Newhouse, Austria (Kalchon in 1879) No other information is available.
Family story: John died during marriage and Maria remarried. The man she married (unknown name)had been married before w/children. We know that Mihaly had a step-father. After Maria died, Mihaly immigrated to the US, as he had no family left. No one knows where his sister went. Apparently she was older than Mihaly and married. Family members in the US never hear of Mihaly corrsponding w/his siter after he came to America.
