Translated from the French

In the Name of the Father Son and Holy Ghost Amen, As we are all Mortal and that the hour of our Death is uncertain I have thought it prudent to Settle my Affairs whilst I have time which I now do by this present Testament which contains my last Will as to the Disposition of my Estate after my Decease and by which I revoke all former Wills by me heretofore made
I. I ratify and confirm every Article of the Will of my late husband Mr. Andrew Majendie
II. I acknowledge that sixty Pounds Sterling of the Capital entered in the Books of the South Sea Annuities in the Name of my aforesaid husband at the time of his Decease do belong to my sister in Law the Widow De Pilles residing at present at Dartmouth and I order that after my death my Executors shall offer themselves ready to pay her the aforesaid sum or if my said Sister in law shall rather choose the said Sum should remain in their hands in such case they shall pay her the Interests thereof until such time as she shall receive the said capital from them
III. I give unto my Son John James Majendie Twenty pounds Sterling My two silver candlesticks my Silver Snuffers and Stand also my two Silver Salvers or Waiters
IV. I Give unto my Son Lewis Arnauld Majendie of Lisbon Twenty pounds Sterling which shall be taken from the five hundred pounds Sterling which my late Husband had lent him and which are actually in the hands of the said Lewis Arnauld Majendie
V. I give unto my Daughter Charlotte Goulet the Sum of fifty pounds Sterling which shall remain in the publick funds in the Name of the Executors of this present Will in order that my said Daughter shall receive the Interests thereof during her life after which and not before the said Sum shall be distributed by Equal portions to her children or to their Heirs Item I give unto my said Daughter Charlotte Goulet during her life the property and Enjoyment of my Garden at Dartmouth and the said Garden after her decease shall revert to my God Daughter Susanna Goulet her Daughter (provided she shall have attained the age of Twenty one years) and to the Heirs of her body or in Default of those unto my Daughter Magdalen Majendie and to her Heirs
VI. As to the one hundred and fifty pounds Sterling which my late husband has assigned by his Will to the Children of my Daughter Charlotte Goulet after my decease I will that if the said Children shall happen to die before they have attained the age of Twenty one years (their Mother being then living) the said Sum of one hundred and fifty pounds Sterling shall remain in the Hands of the Executors of this present Will who shall be obliged to pay the Interests thereof unto my said Daughter Charlotte Goulet during her life and it shall not be till after her Decease that the said Sum shall revert to the Heir or Heirs of the said Children
VII. I give unto my two Granddaughters Susanna Goulet and Jane Goulet (by equal portions) the Sixty pounds Sterling which my Nephew Lewis Mauzy (at present in Ireland) owes me and I will that my Executors after they shall have received the said Sum shall keep the same in their hands and lay it out for the use of my said Granddaughters as they shall think properly
VIII. I further Order that my Executors shall pay the Sum of five Guineas to each of my Sons and Daughters to my Sister in Law the Widow De Pilles and to my Son in Law Caulet of Oporto for their Mourning
IX. After my Debts and funeral Charges shall have been paid and also the Legacys herebeforementioned and those of the Will of my late Husband I Constitute my Daughter Magdalen Majendie universal Heiress of all the Estate which shall be found belonging to me at my Decease Excepting Nevertheless my Cloaths and Linnen Which shall be divided Equally between her and my Daughter Charlotte Goulet
X. I Name and Appoint my Son John James Majendie Clerk and Mr. John Tolet Broker now residing in the City of London Executors of this present Will Done at Dartmouth in the County of Devonshire 26th November In the year of Grace One thousand Seven hundred and fifty ~ Susanna Majendie ~ Signed Sealed Published and Declared by the said Testatria for her last Will in the presence of us who at her request and in her presence have Subscribed our Names as Witnesses ~ Hen. Holdsmith Nic. Adams Edward Dokin ~ the word (Twenty) in the 4th Article hath been therein inserted by my Order ~ Susanna Majendie

This Will was proved at London the Twenty third Day of September In the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and fifty Eight before the Worshipfull Andrew Colter-Durant Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Honourable Sir George Lee Knight also Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of the Reverend John James Majendie and John Tolet the Executors named in the said Will to whom Administration was Granted of all and Singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the deceased having been first Sworn duly to Administer Exd/.
