Looking for documentation good enough to prove SAR membership on my ancester Thompson Maxwell Jr. He was the son of Thompson Maxwell Sr. who served our nation in its early years in three wars: French and Indian, Revolution and War of 1812. Thompson Sr. lived to be 90. We think his son Jr. was born in 1771 in Amherst, MH, USA. From there we have some documentaion like a 1850 federal census placing him and his wife Mary in New York state. We have good proof on Thompson Sr and also all the following generations down to the present. Word of warning: the name Thompson was popular in the direct line and in collateral lines as well -- very confusing. Hugh, Josiah and Benjimin were also used frequently as well was William. Thompson Sr's father was named Hugh and his motherwas born a Corbett. Thompson Sr.'s wife was Sybil Wyman. Oh, the suceeding generations: Thompson III, Theodore, Floyd, Milton, Malcolm, John. Thank for any help. Malcolm G. Maxwell mpmaxwell@wcta.net
