I am researching the Mayberry family of Winfall, Campbell County, Virginia.

My great grandfather was:
Daniel Overton Mayberry who married Fannie L. Candler. The family owned a farm in Winfall and that is where a small family cemetery is located. Daniel was the son of:

Robert & Victoria (Mann) Mayberry, who as the son of:

William W. & Nancy "Allie" (Mann) Mayberry.

I am interested in any information on the Mayberry family in this area but would especially like to move on to William W. Mayberry's ancestors as I have reached a brick wall! Ha!

Hello I'm George Mayberry, my father is Donald Hall Mayberry and he had a brother Lloyd who was lost at sea fishing for lobster. My father and his brothers all were born in Gorham, Maine. His father was George Hall Mayberry.

My great Aunt Margaret Mayberry (married Frank Malinchak)was the sister of Luther and William. There were several siblings. I'm trying to find the marriage record of their father, Ellis and Martha Yates. Also trying to find the parents of Martha Yates (born in N.C.)

My grandfather Jonah L. Mayberry had a brother named John Mayberry. My mother's brother (Jim) is the last surviving member of his generation of our family. He still lives on the property that Jonah built on in N.C. He is also considered our family historian. This is slightly unrelated, but my grandmother was the daughter of John Oscar Mayberry. Her name was Kathryn (Kytella) Orlean Mayberry, b. 1/1/1919 in Grassy Creek, NC to John O. and Ida F. Mayberry. Are you the child of one of her siblings?

Am researching the Mann family. Victoria Mann that married Robert Mayberry was child of Joel and Ann Elizabeth Mann. At one point, Ann Elizabeth Mann was living with Robert and Vicotia, according to census of 1870 or 1880. Joel and Ann Elizabeth are my great-great grandparents.

Do you have any information on the Mann family that you could share?

Charles Wade Mayberry is my grandfather and you have some of your information Mixed up. His mother is Arrie Clementine Mayberry. Not Ira clementine. She never married. Charles wade mayberry was illigitimate. Also there are several Able Mayberrys. some are cousins not decendents.

In 2009 you posted that your son was getting some DNA testing done. I have done that through the National Geographic. It shows my branch of the family originated in what would have been the old Soviet Union, migrated westward and ended up in England/Wales/Scotland. I hope we have some genetic connection as it would help define who Elvira Jane Mayberry Vickers was.

Francis Marian Mayberry born Sep 1854 in Missouri. Married Emma E. Maxwell. They lived many years in Kansas and he died there. Does anyone know who his parents were? Some have mistakenly given Pinkney Columbus Mayberry and Mary Ann Linney Mayberry as his parents--but this is incorrect. Kate Coplin Garrett Mayberry was Albert Chambers Mayberry's 2nd wife that produced three children, Thelma, Russel and Nancy. Kate was my great grandmother and Nancy my grandmother. It is true he was much older than Kate when he produced these 3 children.

Children were Virgil Jr., Erma J., Bonnie B., Dean M., and John Mayberry, all born in Iowa, I believe.
Virgil was the father of one daughter, Karen.
Erma's married name was Coons, (I think) one daughter, other children?
Bonnie and Dean, not sure if there are any children, and John had a son do not know if there are others.
I would appreciate any information on this line.

The Department of Defense announced today the deaths of three soldiers who were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

They died Dec. 3, in Wardak province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked their unit with an improvised explosive device. They were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, Fort Bliss, Texas.

Killed were:

Spc. Thomas J. Mayberry, 21, of Springville, Calif.

William was my 2-great grandfather and married Sarah Williams in Tremont, Schuylkill, PA. They had 6 children who survived - Edward, Mary, Annie, Harry, Edith and Katherine, see the "Rahl/Mayberry" tree on Ancestry, but we know nothing about his parents and would greatly appreciate any information about them.

Debbi, just in case you don't have the following:

Mary F. Salyards, d/o William and Sarah Bogart Salyards, married William M. Mayberry on 18 August 1872 in Putnam County, Ohio. She was a very young bride as she was born in about 1857. In the 1880 census, they are in Lyons, Mills Co., Iowa. She is listed as age 23 and William as age 29.

She was a much younger sister of David's (b. 11 June 1842), the ancestor of Kim.

I erred, Sarah Ada's older brother's full name was William Samuel, not just Samuel. He was born on 03 September 1866.

My contact has Sarah Ada's birthday as 25 February 1870.
He doesn't state the source of this information.

Other siblings to William Samuel and Sarah Ada were:

Minnie Viola, b. 25 July 1872
Harry Arthur, b. 26 October 1880

In browsing Rootsweb Message Boards for Salyards entries, I came across this query of yours. I have been doing Salyards family research for over 30 years. In the process, I came into contact with a descendant of Sarah Ada's older brother, Samuel. This person has done extensive research on this Salyards family. Perhaps you have been able to do further research on Sarah Ada this past year. Basically, my contact found the following information:

Samuel and Sarah Ada were the children of David and Caroline Hayden Salyards.

David was the son of William and Sarah Bogart Salyards

William was the son of Reuben and Margaret DeLong Salyards
They were married 12 June 1817 in Frederick Co., Virginia.

I have much more information on the BMD dates.

Perhaps you have found all of these over the past year.

Linda,I'm in email contact with a man from Wilkes Couty. He is related to the Mayberry's from that area. I feel that we are related to them. My Grandfather William (Will) Mayberry died in 1957. I came by your dad's house on one of my visits there. I wanted to stop in, but he probably would not have remember me. But he use to come to Moms and Dads. I lost my Aunt Hetty and My Uncle Rob, he died in Aug of last year. I miss him so bad. Now there is just Mom and my Aunt Bonnie. There are none of my Father's immediate family left. He is 94 and my mother is 91.

James Mayberry KY Confederate soldier

Seeking information on this soldier who died in an epidemic that swept the 8th KY regiment camp in Hopkinsville during the winter of 1861-62. He was buried in the Potter's Field section of the city cemetery, along with 225 others, but many were said to have been exhumed later and re-buried by relatives in family burial grounds in the hometowns.

He is reported to have enlisted at Camp Reeves near Memphis, Tennessee. Does anyone have information on his family, hometown or final resting place?
