Hello, my name is Allan Maye. My father's name was Ronald Earl Maye. He was married to my mother, Carmelita Bautista. Does anyone know anything about my father and his side of the family. I haven't met or spoken to anyone from my father's side and would like to know more about my family history.

I am looking for any information, or suggestions on where to look for information regarding the Maye's from Croghan.

My Gran Was Teresa Maye (1922-1987) she married Gerrard Alphonsus Kelly (1915-1983) from Elphin.
Her Father was Thomas Maye (1878-1947) and Mother Mary Anne McGovern.
His Father was Patrick Maye (1839-1883 and Mother Honora Beirne.
His Father was Cormac (or Thomas) Maye (1800-1863)
His Father Was John Maye (1760-1818)
His Father was Dennis Maye (1730-1830)
All of the male line names and dates came from a family bible long since lost.

How can i go about confirming any of the above details? All help appreciated!

The noted US government website deals only with reported deaths of American citizens aboard since the year 2002. Your out of luck with any reported death prior to that year.

You can conduct this search yourself. The US government has a website where you can obtain this information, thereby eliminating a "middleman". You can find this information by using google and type in "death of a US citizen abroad".

My Fathers family are Mayes originally from Mayo, My Great Grandfather was Bernard Maye Sr. He had seven brothers and no sisters i am unsure of wives names etc. but they originated in Mayo.

Thomas Maye and Margaret McGarry from Vermont were my paternal grandparents.

They died in Phila in 1959 and 1951 respectively, and are buried in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA

Margaret Maye (nee McGarry) had two children; Thomas Maye (my father- deceased) and Margaret Roberts (still living- about 90 amd in poor health)

I am just starting my ancestry. I am looking for Martin Troy Maye. He died in November of 1982. His mothers name was Jean Bloch and his step fathers name was Robert Bloch.

Marty was buried in Florida, but I can't find the cemetary or grave site.

I have previously posted a message on the Maye family and recieved 2 responses. I now understand that the 'E" was added on later. I would like to provide some background on my side and hopefully someone out there will have a few names that may connect so I can get alot further in my research.
My Granfather was Algie Maye, he was born in Greensville, Alabama on Feb. 2, 1905. He moved to Niagara Falls, NY. He lived there for the rest of his life and died on Sept. 20, 1975. He married a Lodell Kent also from Greenville at the St. Francis Baptist Church by Rev. Scott. They married Sept., 1925
Lodell and Algie had 7 children. One of thier boys died in Alabama under circumstances I would rather not discuss at a young age. Thier other children are as follows in age order:
Mary Ollie Maye (Smith) deceased
Sarah Lou Maye (Allen) deceased
Dorothy J. Maye (Simmons)
Joseph Maye
Marie Maye (Anderson)
If any of these names sound familiar please let me know. I appreciate all the help I can get. My family does have a recorded book of every1, but I have to get to Alabama and meet my relatives there first and that won't be until next year. Thank you all. God Bless.

To Gerry Maye...There was a John Maye who
immigrated to Australia back in about 1870 r there abouts. His family was from Tubbercurry, County Sligo, Ireland. He was
from the Daniel Maye Clan. Daniel had a brother Michael who married a Mary Henry and they had 12 Children. My Grand fathjer was one of those 12 children. His name was PATRICK and he had seven children of whjom myfather Michael was one of them. Michael
and all of his siblings came to NYC except
Bridget Agnes who was retarded. Now going back to Daniel, I was over a couple of times
and spoke to Tom Maye, who married hiscousin
Mary Henry. Tom died about two yeaRS ago.
His wife Mary Henry is still alive and is living in Moughlough, Tubbercurry, County Sligo. Tom was about 86 whenhe died. There
was a Sonny Maye who lived in the Bronx, New
York however I did not get to know him. His
children are grown and they have children of their own. My gereat grand mother Mary Maye
was a sister of Dan Maye and she married a
Patrick Brennan. They too lived in Tubber-
curry. They had two children Anna and Peter.
Anna married Pat Cosgrove and thery had two children..Bridget and James. Bridget married
my father Michael whenthey both came to NYC
back in 1913. Tom would been the one to speak to about the family. All the old folks are gone now and it would be tough to
find anything out. I was raised in an orphNAGE whenmy my mother died in 1928 and Dad died in 1932, so I did not get to know too many of the family that well. I hope this has been helpful and if I can be of more

I was born in 1925, NYC, my Dad Michael was
born in 1883 in Ireland, his dad was Patrick
and was born in Ireland in about 1856, his Dad was Michael and was born in 1819 (and died in 1886, his father was Patrick and was
born about 1791. All are from the townsland of Moylough, County Sligo, Ireland. I know the Maye family has been in that part of Ireland for over two hundred years and there
is still Maye familes living in that area. The biggest town to the location is Tubber-
curry. The parish Kilturra and the local Catholic Church is St. Patrick's. Most of the Maye family members are buriedin Kilturra
Cemetery, Tubbercurry. The Mayes all had large families and some did immigrate over
the years to all parties of the world..Canada, Australia, USA...some served
in the Union Army and some in the Confederate
Army. Hope this is helpful to your search.

All I know is that his name was Victor Percival Maye and that he was an orphan in England before he came to Canada. My grandfather was also on the USS Dorchester. I have an old newspaper clipping from the sinking. I am sorry that I don't know anything about Paul Maye. I am also trying to find out about anyone who may have known my grand father Joseph Charles Charboneau "Charlie".

I'm searching for information about Ella Frances Maye, b. abt 1885 in WV who married James Wm. Kirby, b. abt 1882 in WV. They moved to the Hagarstown area of MD sometime around 1914/15 and remained there until their deaths. Ella died about 1964. Her mother's maiden name was Barrow. They had 15 children, Ernest Milborn, Delcie Maye, Georgia Virginia, Boyd Gilmore, Alice Tabitha, James Wm., Edna Lee, Charles Clifton, Guy Wilson, Ruth O'Neill, Ethel Frances, Mary Catherine, Richard Ira, Margaret Ester, and an infant son who died at birth. Georgia and Charles both died before 1930 during a flu epidemic.
