mother was Azelia Lemoine b1853

I am looking for my father's aunts. Their maiden name was DeGlandon and both were from Avoyelles Parish. One was Marie Beatrice DeGlandon b. 17 Mar 1893 died Oct. 1983. She married a Mayeux but we don't know his first name. I think she spent her last years in a nursing home in Mansura. Also looking for information on her sister Benitap DeGlandon. I have no information of her. My father has never met her in his lifetime. Anyone with information contact either through this message board or my email.

I tried to post it in my database on Rootsweb, but for some reason it did not come out. In the 1930 Census Verdie is shown as the 10th of 11 children of Frank Mayeux and Blanche Francois. They were living in Ward 9 (Cottonport Area) at the time. The parents only spoke French but the children were fluent in English.
Children listed were Aurelia, Angel, Beatrice, Mary, Otis, Della, Valerie, Adis, Ily, Verdie and Huron. Verdie is shown as being 5 years old.

My Mother was Verdie Mayeaux, she came from a family of 12 children ( which I never knew ) The few I did were, Anne, Eunice, Annie, Cass, Haben, & A.J.. Most lived in Alexandria. The Lemoine's are in this family somewhere thur a cousin marrying a Haven Lemoine. My Mother said all of Marksville were related.
Does anyone have any info.or can suggest a group or website for Mayeaux. My Grandparents died way b-4 I was born.

My GGrandfather was Lionel Mayeux he was from Moreauville and Plaucheville far as I can find. He married Emilie Bordelon... They had children i believe. Bernard, Wilton, Arthur, Roderick, Marilee, Dorothy and another I only know as Aunt Sis(she married Colo, though I am not sure if that is how it is spelled)
I am new to this Geneology stuff and only have a little from the Mayeuxs but working. Any info on that line maybe.

Hi Bradley... I think we may be related. My great grandfather was Lionel Joseph Mayeux and his wife was Emilie Lemoine. Moreauville. Who are your mother and father?

(Pauline) Eugenia Mayeux was born c1886 and died in 1923. She was married to Horace Brulte and she was the d/o Joseph Ferdinand Mayeux and Josephine Coco. She was the sister of my grandfather, Paul Moore Mayeux.

Eugenia is buried at St. Peter's in Bordelonville in the grave with her mother, Josephine.

Trying to find out about my grandfather, Fallis Mayeux he married Shirley Lemoine Mayeux. They Lived in Marksville, La and had 2 childern. Barbara Mayeux Balhinger and My Father Robert Jude Mayeux. Fallis left Marksville when My Father was 2 years old (aprox 1944 + or - year) and moved to some where in Arkansas and started another family there. I found Toppy and Aunt Ginger about a year ago... tho we have not seen each other face to face, we have talked on the phone and keep in touch with emails.... you must tell me all about you... and any other sisters... how old are you... children... etc... I do have some personal things to discuss... but this is not the time and place..... I will be 56 in a week... so your sister is an old lady... thanks for replying... I do hope to hear soon...

Thanks anyway maybe she was a second wife that nobody knows about. I got the "Popome" name from Jeanette Newingham and I had never heard of it before either. She didn't have any more info either. It was the only clue I had to go on.

I have only one Zeline Mayeux who might fit, given the child's birthdate of about 1830 and that would be Zeline Mayeux b. 1/8/1803 who married Celeste Firmin b. abt 1805. That would make him about 27 and her about 25 which fits the time frame. The other Zeline's I have were born 1831, 1841, and one in 1812 (which could be a possibility, but I have absolutely NO spouse info at all on him). I was a bit confused about who Pierre Michaud is. Was he Clarisse's spouse? I have no Popome, but that sounds like a nickname to me and I have never run across it. I do not have a Pierre Michaud. Let me know what you find out.

Bill, I'm still looking for information on Clarisse Mayeux b. about 1830. Parents: Zelien Mayeux and Popome Guillot and Pierre Michaud b. abt 1826. You wouldn't happen to know who his parents were? Also, I've seen several Zelien Mayeuxs but none of them were married to Popome Guillot. There seems to be dozens of Pierre Michauds too but none seem to fit. I'm having a hard time connecting both Clarisse and Pierre to their parents. Can you help?

What I know about her...

She lived in Avoyelles Parish. She was married to John Oren Caldwell and had a daughter named Angele (Angeline) Mayeaux, who was born in 1884. I believe she was married before Caldwell to a Troutman and after Caldwell to a Vanosdell. When researching, I found an Adeline Mayeaux who was one of the daughters of Henry Mayeaux and Adelaide Firmin, but I dont know if this is the same person. Please reply if you know something. Sorry- The closest I have is Emile Juneau- born Oct 17, 1852, son of Basile Juneau and Marie Louise Lafitte. As for- Philogene Mayeux born 1845, son of Terrence Mayeux and Scholastic Normand.
