Looking for credible sourced information about the ancestry of Anne Mayo (my 7th ggrandmother), wife of Benjamin Hamlin (1692-1737). They were married 25 Oct 1716 per the vital records of Eastham & Orleans.
After Benjamin's death she married William Graham on 7 Sep 1738 in Eastham.
There is conflicting information about whether Anne is the dtr of Samuel Mayo; several 19th Cent. and early 20th Cent. genealogies show her as his dtr, but without proof. She was not in Samuel Mayo's will of 9 Apr 1734.
Futhermore according to the Mayflower Society (email from their historian I received in March 2006) there is insufficient proof that this Samuel Mayo actually married Ruth Hopkins as she may have married Job Winslow.
Does anyone know of any proof's of Anne's parentage and, if her father was Samuel, proof of his marriage to Ruth Hopkins?
Thanks
Paul P.
