I'd like to hear from anyone conducting Mays research in Amherst, VA. I have very limited information and am trying to make some connections as a starting point. I'm specifically interested in ANCESTORS of William Mays (married to Mozella Jane Johnson). Unfortunately, William seems to have been a common name and I do not have a middle initial. He was born around 1853 in Amherst. I have a list of their children and can compare that to yours...however, I'm more interested in working backwards at this point!
