Cheryl, last fall I found the township map for Warren Twp., Putnam Co., Indiana where everyone is labeled. It is looking more and more like Cassie Godwin McAlister is probably the daughter of (N)Etheldred Godwin (aka Dred).

I do descend from Dred and his wife Peggy Ball through their daughter Margaret who married George W. Sabin.

Back to the map: In range 7, 8, 17, and 18 are patents for laand by Netheldred Godwin; William Thomas; Nathan Godwin and John McAlister. Most of the properties back up to each other.

Kay, I am so soory to keep posting to all of your queries! Where in KY was John McAlister born? George Sabin was also supposed to be born in KY. Any clue yet where in IA Cassie may have died? George Sabin is deceased by the time their daughter Maria Ellen Sabin married James Knox Polk Smith in Boone County, Iowa in December 1875; by 1880, her mother Margaret Sabin and remaining siblings move on to Colorado.

I am looking for any information on George Larkin McAlister. To the best of my knowledge he was a white male, born in SC about 1906. I have been unable to find him on the 1910 or 1920 US Census.

On the 1930 census in Baltimore, MD He was 24 years old and listed as a boarder at the home of Samuel and Lilly Sauliston I do not know anything about his parents. Anyone with any knowledge about him please contact me at Family2tree@yahoo.com Thanks so much.

I am looking for information on William Smith Mcalister and his second wife Annie. I have heard she may have been a stroup. The had a child named Theodosia Mcalister who married Gerard c. Nantz. What is the family heritage? I have been told there was part indian in the family. One of Theodosias daughters is named Annie Mahala Nantz and she appears either black or indian in the photo and yet the census record shows her as white. Anyone have any clues?

The only thing I have right now is the census records and you have that info there. I can tell you that George W. is buried in a marked grave at Unity Presbyterian Church in Lincoln County NC. A previous reply on this board said that Smith and his wives were buried there but I found nothing. I did find his grave there.I found a website that said they were buried at Pumpkin Center and I went there and found the marker. I believe it was St. Mark's but I had a computer virus and lost the info. The members that I know are descendents but at the current time, I am not sure which one is their ancestor. I will see if I can find out the info and let you know.

SMITH AND SUSAN WERE MY GREAT GREAT GRANDPARENTS. HIS SECOND WIFE WAS ANNIE STROUP BORN 01/15/1838 AND DIED 10/26/1914? THEY ARE BURIED AT A CHURCH IN PUMPKIN CENTER, NC. I HAVE NOT DONE MUCH GENEOLOGY ON HIS SECOND WIFE SINCE SHE WAS NOT AN ANCESTOR OF MINE, BUT I DO KNOW QUITE A FEW OF HER DESCENDENTS AS THEY ALSO LIVED IN IREDELL COUNTY WHERE I LIVE. I HAVE NEVER HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT INDIAN ON THE MCALISTER SIDE SO THAT MAY BE AN ANCESTOR OF THE STROUPS.

Hello,
It seems that 7 years have passed since you entered this mail,
I just came across this MaCAlister/Mackinnon of Kilpatrickextract, and it just happens to be the site I.m looking at , at this moment. This was the home of the Reverend John MacAlister and succeeding ministers of the churches in Scotland since the early 1800.s

Searching for info on Francis, possibly born in 1853 in Antrim. Had a child with Mary Mullen, unsure if they were married as Mary came to USA with son, John McAlister, and married William Bryant. Any help would be great. Bret
