Roger C. McAllister, age 86, of Erie,
died Thursday, January 19, 2012, at the Soldiers and Sailors Home. He was born in Erie, on March 23, 1925, the son of the late Willis C. and Ada Wallace McAllister. He served in the U.S. Army Airborne division during World War II. Roger had been employed as a toolmaker at Erie Press Systems for 25 years, retiring in 1988. Roger was a member of various clubs in Erie, . He enjoyed taking the family to Canada camping and fishing. He was an avid golfer and swimmer, and loved all sports. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemarie Grippi McAllister; his son, Thomas McAllister; a grandson, Tony Marsowicz; two sisters, Florence Musser and Evelyn Yanosko; his brother, Lockwood McAllister; and his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Matthew Maria Caputo McAllister. He is survived by his two daughters, Jeannine Marsowicz and her husband, Anthony, and Cheryl Harris and husband, Michael; two sons, Timothy McAllister and his wife, Brenda, and Matthew McAllister and companion, Tammy Talarico. He is further survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street, Erie, PA 16502 on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service there at 1:30 p.m.
