I was born Samuel Keven McBurnett in 1958 to Robert Jewel McBurnett and Barbara Louise Guidry. I understand that my father's parents were Samuel A. McBurnett and Ruth Jenkins. They had lived in California when they gave birth to Robert, but moved to Texas and lost a son in Ft. Worth when a rail car ran over him.
I noticed in Neal McBurnett's list of married couples in his compilation of the McBurnett history, a couple named (1900) Ruby Lee Gray Jenkins and Lister T. Jenkins. I wonder if there's any relevancy there to my grandparents. Neal's web site is http://mcburnett.org/ .

you're probably going to need to do some census work to trace back few generations further before anyone here will likely have information share. Fortunately computers have made this research much easier..... and inexpensive if you do your research at libraries with Ancestry subscriptions or at LDS Family history centers. These Libraries should also have books that will show you how to research census and other records. Its' not that difficult once you learn how!

Fortunately the surname McBurnett is relatively rare and therefore much easier to research than many other surnames

I am Emily McBurnett Morgan, my father is Mark Allan McBurnett, his father was Harry Lindon(sp?) McBurnett, and I believe his father was Samuel Albert McBurnett. If you have any further info on this line I would like to have it for my records.
Thanks,
Emily
PS.There are actually two Mark Allan McBurnetts, so if you already have record of one, it's probably not my dad.

Hello
I have just posted some unidentified photos that may include several photos of McBurnetts at my new website, "West Georgia Unidentified Photos"
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~westgeorgiaphotos/
Currently all the photos that are posted there once belonged to the family of James Morgan Richardson and his wife Nancy Catherine McBurnett. I believe that James and Nancy have lived in Polk, Haralson and Carroll counties in Georgia.

By the way, If anyone wants their old-and-unidentified , West Georgia photos posted on my website then email me and I will see what I can do ;-) If you are a webmaster, feel free to link to my website but if you do please notify me.

Thanks,
Bert
I found a Joshua McBurnett Son of James and Nancy Pate McBurnett. He was born around 1810. This might help, then again i`am not sure. I am Samuel Lee son of Samuel Wayne son of Walter Lee son of Jefferson McGee McBurnett . Let me know if I did well. I`am new at this, However this is very interesting and I would like to learn more and eventually meet and speak with the family.

R.G. McBurnett (Robert?) was born c1874 in Texas. His parents were born in Alabama. He lived in Williamson Co., TX in 1910 and in Milam Co., TX in 1920. He married Esther SIDES and had five children: Gail, Getha (Gotha?), Milford (b. 1912?), William Pinckney McBurnett (Gilliam Pinckney?), and Jessie (daughter). Does anyone have any information to trade on this family? In 1920 R.G.'s widowed mother Marie (age 76, born AL) was living with them. Dan_Stevenson@sparta.com

There is a Joshua McBurnett listed in the 1850 federal census for Carroll County Georgia as a 5 yr old son of Nicholas and Lucinda McBurnett. If you have access to the images on line this family is entry 555 Image 83 and 84. Also on Image 84 entry 556 is a Nancy McBurnett. Image 96 and image 100 also list Mcburnetts. There are 198 Images for this "Eleventh Division" of "Other Townships" in Carroll County but I've only made it through 100.

Desperately Seeking My McBurnett Line

I have Nancy Catherine "Kate" McBurnett b. 07/25/1884 in Georgia, d 11/1972 Unknown. She was married to James Morgan Richardson, b. 12/06/1884 Floyd Co., GA, d. 1953. Nancy's parents are (supposedly) Stephen Joshua McBurnett and Millie Elizabeth Winkles who were married 05/22/1873 in Coweta County, GA. The reason I say supposedly is I have found SO MANY Joshua's, but never a Stephen Joshua. I found a Steven or a Joshua who was married to a Susannah Winkles, but that is the closest I have ever come. It is just very frustrating, as this is my mom's family, and she didn't get to know any of her older ancestors as her parents passed away when she was just a child. She was moved back and forth between relatives for years, but none of them that have the information that we need. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Please email me directly if you have information!
Thanks!
