I'm looking for the parents of Augustus McCafferty born about 1843 in Cuba. His father may have been Hugh McCafferty, who supposedly went to Cuba about 1840 to mine for copper. Hugh also was supposed to have worked on the Erie Canal in NY. Any information on Augustus or his parents would be welcome.
