2 SISTERS DIE WHEN THEIR CARS CRASH
South Sioux City, Neb.
Two Sioux City, Iowa sisters were killed last night when the separate cars in which they were riding collided on icy U.S. Highway 20, two miles west of here.
The victims were Caroline McCarthy, 22, and her sister, Judy, 19, both formerly of Randolph, Neb. They had been sharing an apartment in Sioux City.
Authorities said Judy, accompanied by Gerald Reeg, 23, of Wayne, Neb., was enroute to Randolph, 50 miles west, to give Caroline the key to the Sioux City apartment. Caroline mean-while, was driving to Sioux City.
Officiers said apparently one of the girls recognized the car of the other, stepped on the brakes causing her car to skid on the icy highway, and that the crash followed.
