I am attempting to track down my father's family. His Grandfather was Charles F. McCarthy of Alameda & Modesto. He was married twice that I can determine; first to Jennie E. (maiden name unknown) they had one child Thomas G. His second wife was Mary E. Murphy of Salida. They had four children, Florence, Alvin Charles, Helen, and Ruth. Only Alvin married; his children are Alvin Joseph, (my father) and Mary Louise. I think that I have been able to trace Charles Family to 1860/1870 in the area surrounding Columbia, Tuolumne Cty. In his obituary it stated that he was born in Cold Springs, Tuolumne County. Anyone researching McCarthy family members or information, please lend a newbie a hand!!
