Hi Randy. Unfortunately, I've hit a dead end with Mattie McCelland, my g.g.grandmother. If I knew more I might be able to help you. Since we're the only ones here to spell it McCelland, I felt I should acknowledge you. Please keep an eye out for Mattie (Maddie/Madeline/Margaret/Etc.) and I will keep an eye out for John Logan. Good luck!

Julia

Looking for Info on Mattie McCelland

Hello! Mattie McCelland (possible misspellings on both names...perhaps Mattie was a nickname...don't know) was my great-greatgrandmother, which I recently found out thanks to my great-aunt. The only thing I know for sure about her was that she died when my great-grandad was about 10 years old, meaning she died around 1901. My great-grandad was Clarence Albert Burnette, Sr. (b. 13 Jun 1890). My great-aunt also told me that she was told that Clarence was informally adopted by a Burnette and his father was actually a Frenchman by the name of Jointier (web searches on this name have turned up nothing) I would like to find out anything at all about Mattie and would like to discover the truth of her story. Any info will be immensely appreciated.
Julia Burnette
