McClane Photos from turn of the century

Hello McClane researchers,
My Aunt recently let me borrow two shoe boxes full of old photos from the turn of the century. I will be scanning them to my tree, The Algeo & Bollinger Tree, and the process should take me through the end of the year! The oldest McClanes in the photos are Jacob McClane and Sarah Jane McCafferty McClane of Chanute, KS. and features many of their children and grandchildren. Keep watching the photo gallery of my tree for updates!
Happy Hunting,
Marianne Bollinger
mamagack@hotmail.com

My name is Ruth Smith. We have talked about the McClane Family before. My new email address is joe.ruth@yahoo.com I have started on Henry Allen and Fannie's children again. Everett "Mac" gave me information in the 1980's. With this I have put together some information. I can not find Rachel
after her mother died. There is a Rachel McClain a servant (1900 census) for the Theodore Schaefer famiy in Wabash County, Illinois. The dates look good, but it listed her father's birth place as Ohio. Mac said Rachel married 1st to Martin Hastings had three children Emily, Roy and a son. Married 2nd time to John Miller had two children John and Viola Miller. please contact me. Ruth

MacLaine Descendants DNA Group

If any members have done or are deciding to do genetic DNA, I've started a DNA group for descendants of MacLaines, including all septs of the surname. Y-DNA is passed from father to son and mtDNA is passed from your direct maternal line. If you have done DNA tests from another service, you can add your results to ancestry.

http://groups.ancestry.com/site/44751411/

Hi,

I am looking for Alfred McClane who was married to Mary Pierce. They had a daughter named Annie Laura McClane. She was born November 28, 1892 in Pushmacahaa, Alabama. On July 17, 1909 she married Henry Wesley Allen in Meridian Mississippi. From what I hear her family was wealthy and Annie went to a prominent school in Meridian, Mississippi. Her parents didn't approve of her married Henry Wesley Allen and took her out of his will. I cannot seem to find any information on this family. What I listed is the only information I have.

Anyone with connections to Henry McLain (McClane) or any families in the area. I have been tracking down the McLains of my paternal line in Kilbride, Kilcoursey, Offaly. Henry McLain was born 1831 in Clara, Kilbride and married Anna Ellis in 1865. They emigrated soon after that, but I looked up their parents in Griffith's and found them as "McClane"s, as well as the 1826 Tithe Applotment books and found them as "McClane" so if anyone gets to that area, please contact me.

Children Elizabeth, Charles, Douglas, Rachel, Harriet, Jonathon, Moses. Born 1764 died 1839"

Their was no indication of who made the notation.

my e-mail address has changed to ruthandjoe@excite.com My McClane history starts with Thomas McClane born late 1790's in northern Ireland( according to local history book). Was in maryland 1804 -1806 where his first two children where born. One of them being Charles my ggg-grandfather. Thoms was in kentucky for afew years where additional children where born. Finally in 1818 settled in wabash county Illinois in 1818. Where he died in 1850. I have found 12 McClanes that I believe are his children. Of those 12, I have prove that several are the children Thomas Mc Clane. May g-grandfather was Henry Allen McClane. Grandfather Herb McClane.
I may have completely mis-spelled the name, but I got it from the back of a photograph taken in the 1940's and the handwriting was somewhat less than clear. Lurliane (Lurlean?) was born in or around Trinity County, Texas around 1930 and is the daughter of Addie Mae Miller and the granddaughter of William M. Miller of Trinity, Texas. I think Addie was born in Franklin, Texas, before 1909. L. is the only known cousin to my mother and her sisters, and the family would very much like to re-establish contact with her.

Looking for info about William McClane/McClain who was born in PA and married Rebecca Moorhead (born 1806). They likely were in Armstrong County, PA in 1834-1840. 2 sons, Moses and Joseph were born in PA in 1842 and 1845. Eventually the family moved to Texas. I believe William may be the son of Moses McClain of Armstrong County, PA. 2 researchers list his son William as being married to Margaret Morehead but I'm not sure where they got the name Margaret. Any info would be helpful!
