Sara McCorkle, 91, of Elizabeth Borough, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, in UPMC McKeesport. She was a member of Elizabeth United Methodist Church and AARP Wilson Chapter No. 1612 and was a former co-owner of Elizabeth Distributing. She was born Feb. 3, 1918, in Elizabeth, a daughter of the late John and Jessie Young Lonkosky and wife of the late William E. McCorkle Sr. She is survived by a son, William E. McCorkle Jr., of Dania Beach, Fla.; a sister; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the PAUL E. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, Elizabeth. A service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Wayne Cleary officiating.
