Do any of your McCrackens have Lytle as a middle name, or a first name? If so they tie into our line, originating in Pennsylvania.

I have transcribed a newspaper article from 1951 outlining the hardships the McCrackens faced when they first settled in Dummer. They were from a hardy stock. It speaks of Sgt. Major William Robert McCracken.

Please let me know if you want me to send you the transcribed article. The story was in 2 parts but I only have the first. I went to the Peterborough library but couldn't find the second half of the article.
