I believe the McCracken family was related by marriage to the Williams family who also migrated to Polk Co, MO. Elijah Williams, baptist preacher, had a brother Thomas who died in Lincoln Co, TN. His 7 minor children and his estate were handled by Thomas C. McCracken. Thomas was married to Mary Williams, most likely sister to Elijah Williams. I am a direct descendent of Elijah's sister, Nancy Williams, who married John M. Harper.All these folks were in Lincoln, TN before MO. The Harpers lived in St. Clair and Hickory, MO.
Do you have anything on a relationship between the McCrackens and the Williams of Polk Co?

I also here there is a McCracken still on the old family farm have yet to find her.

I know your post is old and maybe you have this already but if not here you go. Paris Died Jan 28th, 1884 from Disease of liver & spine. You can find this at www.sos.mo.gov. His wife Nancy Adeline Sapp married Samuel Emery after Paris's death she died May 6th, 1919 in Flimington, MO her death certificate can also be found there.

Thomas and Elizabeth (Holmes) McCracken spent over 20 years in Flemington MO. They are buried a little north of the Polk county. His descendants still live on the original family farm. John Lytle McCracken is the oldest of 12 children. I am related to Albert Garner, the 8th child. Robert Holmes, Elizabeth's father faught in the Revolution war. He was held prisionar on a ship in the harbor in North Carolina where he contracted small pox. He escaped from the hospital and rejoined his family. Please email me directly for more info.

Anytime a McCracken has Lytle in their name, they all descend from the John McCracken that married Jean Lytle. However they were quite prolific, and your John Lytle might not be the same as mine. ;-)
