My g-grandmother was Dora Mae McCracken she married Reuben Murnan in Missouri. She was born in Elkton, her father was Paris McCracken. His death is listed in the 1884 meeting pages of the Baptist church but I can find no other record of him.

Please contact me. There is a long list of McCracken relatives in the Polk Co, Mo area. The Polk Co Museum maintains a "McCracken" Room. I don't know if I can help but may be able to link you to someone who can.

Any info would be most appreciated.I know her father was Paris McCracken and her mother was Nancy Adlin. On the Polk county website I found where he is listed in the minutes of the Missionary Baptist Church 1884 annual meeting as having died so he died sometime between their 1883 and 1884 meeting.

Please contact me at my home email address: ccarver@cillnet.com. I am related to Thomas McCracken who moved to the Polk Co. area in the 1930's. One of Thomas's direct descendents still lives there on the family farm. I am in contact with her often as she and her husband are fellow geneologists. I am reluctant to give her name and address on a list without her permission but am certain she would not object if you were to contact me direct. She has email so it would be easy enough to contact her.

Hello I just saw your message-the Polk Co. Museum is in Bolivar in an old school house and it must be to expensive to heat it because they close it down for the winter-they have a website-shows an old bed in the McCracken room.

I am from the McCracken side. Your James B could be the brother of Samuel Gorden McCracken who married Bethena Boren. I knew that Brothers married sisters. Robert McCracken-Nancy McClure were their parents. In my records Robert and Nancy had 11 children Roberts Parents were John McCracken and Margret Adams. If you have any thing to add please contact me. Sue, my info shows Bethina married a Jacob welch on 12-18-1892, my info shows she was Theresa daughter, do you have any info on her mother Martha Johnson? I would also like some background on her dad Joshua Boren, my info go more from her marriage and then to her children. I have found some old records that shows native american background, do you know anything about this?

Joshua Boren and Martha Johnson. Married 1830 in Bradley Tn. They had Bethena Tereca, Siotha, and William. The 1850 cencus stated Joshua age 40 and Bethena 17, Tareca 14, Siotha 12 and william 7.That is all I have found. I haven't found Indian in any of our history so far.
