Barbara, my mail to you is bouncing back.
I found Elizabeth McCracken (48) (Samuel Sr's widow) in Tyler Twp of Hickory Co MO in 1870 with Parris (20) Louisa(19) Leonadis(17) and Samuel R.(15).
The 1860 census age also calculates for Sam, Jr. to have been born in 1855.
Son Lafayette (24) and Margaret (22) are next door. I need to take another look at the census to see if this was his wife or sister.
