I am trying to sort out some McCrackins from Newberry County, South Carolina from the late 1700s to early 1800s. In the 1800 census there appear together:

I am particularly interested in Robert and Rachel (GLASGOW) McCrackin. Rachel was the youngest daughter of James and Mary GLASGOW, who emigrated circa 1770 from Kilwaughter Parish in County Antrim, Ireland. Rachel was born in 1774 in South Carolina. She had brothers Robert GLASGOW, John GLASGOW, Archibald GLASGOW and Wilson GLASGOW, and a sister, Margarett GLASGOW Kinnard (Kennard, Kenneard, Kinnaird).

My ancestor, Wilson GLASGOW married Mary McCRACKEN. I do not yet know who her parents were.

There are also a Thomas McCRACKEN and an Arthur McCRACKEN in Newberry during this time frame; I am unsure about their connections to any of the above McCRACKINS.
