Hugh,
I posted that almost 5 years ago, I'm so excited that you have information on my grandfather. My father, John Paul died in 1977. My mother, bless her soul, just passed on the
13th of Sept. '03, at almost 85. I've been so frustrated on and off from not finding any history on A. D. McC. Dad's older brother Joseph Ralston McC. had two sons, my only cousins, said he had info, but never connected. I can't wait to see it. Does this mean that you are my cousin? Well, I'm the youngest of six! thanks, joan

I am searching for information on Sybil McCrackin. She was born on Augst 20,1914 in White Plains, KY. She died in Leesburgh Fl on Jan 9,1970. She was married to William E, Owens. Her Brothers were WB McCrackin, Marvin McCrackin, and William McCrackin. She had one sister Velma McCrackin. I think that her mother's name was Birdie Brashers. I do not have information on her father, only that he was a McCrackin. Sybil was said to be Indian, but I get conflicting stories as to whether she was Seminole, Blackfoot, or Apache. Any information would be helpful.

Rebecca,

I believe we have a common ancestor in Peter McCracken/in, b. abt. 1821 in Kentucky, m. Nancy Baker, April 4, 1840 in Orange Co., Indiana. Peter is my great-great grandfather. His oldest son, John is my great-grandfather.

I have found Peter and his family in the 1850 Federal Census in Orange Co., IN; in the 1860 Federal Census in Iron County, MO; and in the 1880 Federal Census in Howell Co., MO. According to these census records, here is a list of his children:

John B. 1842 KY; D. 1918 KS
Margaret B. 1844 IN
Mary Elizabeth B. 1848 IN
William A. B. 1859 MO

I am interested in Peter's parents (whom you identify as John and Margaret McCrackin) as I have not, thus far, been sure about their identity. Do you have more information on them that you would be willing to share? I hope my information is helpful to you.

Anita

Good Day all,

I'm searching for my great grand father James Wilbert McDonnell born about 1878 in Dublin to, ? McDonnell (McDonald) and Rose Anne McCraghan(McCrachen) shipped to Canada as, in his own words "orphan slave labour" he stated he arrived in Canada in 1884 at six years old. My great grandfather may have been sent to relatives then farmed out to a neibour. I haven't been able to find him in Canada before 1891 and I can't locate him in Dublin at all. With a non Irish middle name like Wilbert I thought he'd be easy to find.
Any help would be appreciated.
My web site is www.cadvision.com/mcdonnek
My email is kellymcdonnell@cadvision.com
Best to you
Kelly McDonnell
Calgary Alberta Canada.
