JOE R. MCCRANEY, Sr., 78, of Little Rock retreated from this earthly battlefield on Friday, June 18, 2004. He was a decorated WWII veteran of the European Theater, having earned the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He had retired from Reynolds Metals after 37 years. Survivors are sons, Joe R. McCraney Jr., James McCraney, and Jerry McCraney (Chrystyne); daughters, Mary Scales (Bert), Rose Walker, Virginia Strong (Alex), Madelyn and Melissa McCraney, and Margaret Carlisle (Tim); and 28 grandchildren.
