His parents were:
Malcomb McCranie - Born - 1866 in Dodge GA - cannot find death record.
Martha ? - born - 1875 in GA.
She died in Levy County FL

Malcomb's Mother was
Rachel McCranie (unknown maiden name)
Rachel is the head of household in 1870 Telfair County Census

I'm hitting a brick wall with my GG Grandfather from Georgia.
There are a lot of McCranies from the GA area but I have been unable to tie any of them to my family.

Hi, I am a McCranie descendant. My mother was Alpha Irene McCranie. Her father was Lauren McCranie, born Nov. 25, 1862 in Louisiana and died Nov. 16, 1931 near Leesville, LA in an auto accident. He married Frances Viana Jackson. His parents were Andrew Jackson (Jack) McCranie and Brilla Priscilla Huddleston McCranie. I don't know when Jack was born, but believe he was born in Florida either in St. Petersburg or Milton. I have been batting a brick wall on Jack and Brilla because I have no dates. Would any of you happen to have anything on them in your research? Would appreciate any help. These McCranies are an elusive bunch. Thanks, Gloria

Just found the grave of my maternal Grandmother's father, Dow Lorenzo McCranie (aka D. L. or Dock). Name on his stone is spelled McRanie while the name on his mother's and Grandmother's stones is spelled McCranie. There are only three identifiable stones.

1. "D. L. McRaine Aug. 20, 1879/ Mar. 9, 1920"
D. L. was Dow Lorenzo or Dock. He mar. Amanda Caroline Vaughn, dau of James C. and Mary (Cummings) Vaughn.. Amanda mar. 2d; Joseph Ray. Joseph mar 1st; Mary Catherine McCrimmon. Dock and Amanda were the parents of my Maternal Grandmother Mary Pearl (McCranie) Dowdy. The name McRaine is how it is spelled on stone; note spelling on other two stones...

and have reached a dead end eaarly on. Looking for info
on George D. McCranie from Pitts, GA, who married
Emma Faircloth. Their son born about 1913 was

Looking for my future son-in-law's father who was born ?Oct.27,1960? in Winter Park Florida. In 1981 he was stationed at Ft.Riley, Kansas where he met Roger's mother, Susan. It is believed he is half native american. Roger was later adopted by the man who became Susan's husband. He has never met his father and would just like a little information, and know more about his heritage.

hi i am searching for my my greatuncle and aunts family, i know quite abit about dora dykes and her family, but to date i know very little about dan. what i do know is that in the 1885 cencus of jackson co fl. he is listed as 3years old son of j. mccraney born in ga and parents born in ga. he is listed with brother w p mccraney age 5 and sister mattie age 1 and they are listed in the household of c t traylor and his wife florida and their children.
daniel married dora dykes from jackson co fl and they lived in various areas of the panhandle of fl. they were liveing in blountstown , calhoun co when he and his son ansel, died within 24 hours of eack other. i know where the 2 are burried, but would like to know more about his parents. and what happened to the older son edward who is reported to have killed himself over a lost love. it seems the girl whose name was something lee. was terminally ill and refused to marry him. lots of un answered question. ansel had one child who was 7 or 8 at the timeof his death and doest remember edward ever being talked about. any help no matter how small will be appreciated .will be happy to share what little i have.
